The Dicenomicon App Reviews

Broken on iOS 6.1

Instantly crashes to springboard. Hope a patch fixes soon.

Awesome and Love Whiteboard!

I play mostly impromptu RPG-style battles with my boys and love the whiteboard for tracking hit points. It works really well and quickly. The dice look great and roll great. I use basic formulas to set the favorites list to what I need, including rolling dice if different colors. Just awesome and Ive seen others who dive deeper into into it do amazing things.

Shake to reroll bug STILL THERE

This program has an annoying bug that still there after two versions: shaking to reroll a custom roll (like d6 + 1) will work the first time, but will then repeat the last result on all subsequent shake rerolls. Tapping the reroll button seems to work. This is such a stupid bug and it used to work fine. Come on guys. Get this thing fixed.

Could be better.

The U.I. Could be much more properly responsive. The Dex mod doesnt show up properly. Whenever I try to add a level in the fighter class it closes out the app. The class list is basic, so none of the alternate base classes and you cannot add classes. Races are basic with no alternate races also. And thats all that I found within the first 5 minutes of downloading and opening. The dice macro seems promising, for sneak attack chance and critical chance and such.

Awesome dice rolling, terrible UI

Best dice rolling app there is, but the documentation and the UI is confusing and frustrating. Someone created a beautiful dice rolling simulator, but has no idea how normal people would use the app. As a result, customization is limited.

Same problem as others - no longer works in iOs 5

Just like a few other people, I have an iPad gen 1 with iOS 5 and the app no longer opens after the update. I would just like the app to specify that it no longer supports my iPad. The app is great and the updates sound phenomenal, I just cant use it at all anymore. I hope a solution can be reached.

Excellent dice roller, with full support for macros

Ive been using Dicenomicon for a long time time. It is great for the basic user who just wants a digital die roller, and for the power user who can get in and make some macros to roll additional dice, add pluses or minuses, or display success or failure text on the screen. Can create and roll any usual dice or your custom die, be it a d1,or a d31. You can make dice that display text, like a "Big Bang Theory" die (rock, paper, scissors, lizard, Spock). Support for more than just D&D. Just about any game that rolls dice can use this app. Great on iPad and iPhone. Ver 3.2 gives more support for iOS7. It can pull & push data to Dropbox. And the forums has great support from many of the veteran users for first time users. If you want a digital dice roller, this is the one to get.

Fixed crashing on iOS 6

Thank you! Best dice app on the App Store

My go to dice app.

I do a bit of Pen and Paper gaming, 2-3 games a week and this app is my default die rolling.

Still the Best

Still the most powerful dice app on the App Store by a big margin. Looks great, and the UI is good. Particularly useful if you play more than just d20 games. It has every type of die you can imagine, and for those who need the power, its even scriptable.

Documentation Broken... 3.2.1

Purchased this based on reviews about the web. Seems very powerful, but apparently the authors website/forum that he uses for support and documentation is down. This means no questions can be asked or answered, and beyond basic features you can get no info about the app. Links in help go dead and return no pages. Advise you give the app a pass until the developers site comes back online.

Decent App, Bad Peripheral Support

The app itself is fairly decent. The available char sheets dont include D&D 5E, but thats just an annoyance. Unfortunately, it doesnt properly support using a bluetooth keyboard in setting up die rolls. You have to use the onscreen keyboard for them.

Crashes galore!

The app crashes every time I try to edit the favorite rolls on my iPad Air 2. Not worth $5.

Buggy and yet still superior

I havent seen another dice app that has the level of customization that this one does. You can write snippets of code for further customization and use images for custom sides. That alone makes this my favorite dice app. But it is a little buggy and could be better supported/streamlined.
